What is BartArt? I’m glad you asked. It is simply me expressing myself thru the medium of acrylic paints focusing on abstracts. It is a form of low budget therapy for me. I can fully express myself in a safe place and not break the bank. The creative process for me is a joyous, exhilarating, maddening, and thought provoking experience.  

I work in two main ways when I paint. At first, I  work quickly getting  a foundation of color and then move into an intuitive and more relaxed state where color leads the way. Often I have no idea where/how the painting will end or even the direction. One stroke might send me in a bright direction while a marking or roller could move me into a layered more blueish stint.  It also can be tough to know when the piece is done. Months after completion I sometimes do a “remodel” and rework a painting. This has a bit to do with my restless nature and need for change. 

Also, music has always been a key part of my process. I enjoy listening to many styles ranging from Reggae, Alternative Rock, to World Music.  I see color in music and believe color brings life to our world and hopefully you find some of that light and life in my work.
